I'm 24 and I forget things...Help..?

Question:
not extremely but I forget things like: if I call someone and I knew what I was going to say and when they pick up I completely forget...I remember later on but it seems like its happening more and more every time for example the other day I had my keys and I put them on the table then I went outside when I went back in I saw them and I was going to get them but I told myself No bcuz I might loose them. Then the next morning i couldn’t find them anywhere and I don’t remember if I actually pick them up.
So its things like that. Well I’m getting worried and am not sure if its something i should visit the doctor, if so what kind of doctor? I’ve never really been to a doctor but do medical insurance pay for stuff like this? or is their any over the counter pills that will help? Pleas tell me if you think if its serious! Thank you

Answers:
Ok, I'm just like that at 26, but it started after I became a mom last year. How is your diet? Do you get plenty of fruits, veggies, protein, grains, etc? Even a multi-vitamin would help I bet. And the biggest thing that helps me is.... wait...... what was I talking about?.......Oh yeah, writing lists. Seriously, that helps a ton.

Sounds like you need FocusFactor
Quit smoking pot
I have the same thing. I think it's the booze.
I forget things all the time. Stuff just like you. I think it is normal. But if it is really really bad then you should see a doctor. you could be overeacting though.
It might not hurt to see a doctor or maybe even a couselor, but first off try to manage your distractions...sounds like you are very distracted. Usually insurance will pay, and many employers have additional Employee Assistance programs for counseling....

If you can remember things that happened years ago, but you can't remember where you put your keys. Your short term memory my be affected. If you want to see a doctor, you might want to see a neurologist.
It doesn't sound serious, just a normal case of forgetfulness. We all have it sometimes, more than others. Just try to be more attentive with things. If you get excited while trying to remember something, you are more likely to forget. Just focus more on things that are going on around you. Another possibility might be adult attention deficit disorder. But you should go see a doctor about it if you are concerned. I hope this helps.
Focus more on yourself and what ever is causing the problem! Make a list and keep it next to you!. I would go to a psychiatrist to help you and yes insurance pays for it. I know since I'm in the field.
Here are some tips to help you remember. http://www.memorytalk.com/absenttip.html

I used to use one of those voice recorders that you can hang on your keychain. It will record for about 30 seconds or so. Great for things like remembering to buy something you're out of, or things that just occur to you while driving or whatever. The more responsibility you take on it seems the more your memory lapses.. at least that's what it was for me. Good luck and maybe trying Gingko Biloba or that FocusFactor will help too.
I suggest you visit a neurologists [a doctor that specialize in mental conditions]. He might be able to figure out why your having basic short term and long term memory losses.
