I bought a Sharp Plasmacluster air purifier in 2004 when the haze situation got dramatically worse in our area. We put it in the living room during the day and use it in the bedroom at night. I think it is working pretty well since my 2 year old son is asthmatic and he is doing fine despite the worsening haze condition. If I enter the bedroom after turning the air purifier on for some time, I can really feel the difference than the air outside. The fact that it is from Sharp, a well known brand, make it easier to purchase at large electrical store. Just search for Sharp Plasmacluster on the net, and you'll get tons of information.

We have 2 Oreck® air purifiers and they work great. Just run the filters thru the dishwasher once a month.
