Question about styes?

Question: I have a stye forming on my lower eyelid, just started today. This is the first I've ever had. I was told to use a warm/hot washcloth and hold it on the stye for 30 minutes. I was just wondering for anyone else that has had styes if they had done this and for how many days, when did it go away? Thanks for your help.

The wash clothes work great and rather quickly (day or two)

go to the store and buy a stye medication. it should be gone a couple of days.

what? I would rub my right middle finger very hard against my left palm for about 15 seconds and apply it to my stye and it worked very well. I did this on various occasions in my life (about 4) and it worked. I haven't had a stye in more than 30 years. At least for me it worked.
