Bad calf pain?

Question:
Last night i woke up with the worst pain in my calf. It felt like someone had a really strong hold of it. just a real tight feeling. anybody ever experice this?

Answers:
That's called a charley horse. Oh and they hurt. Its sometimes. the way you dream or move in your sleep. I get them when i sleep in certain positions or I've done alot of walking and exercising the day before and forgot to stress.

The best thing to do is when you wake up and you get that is to relax don't panic. Just lay there until the pain goes away. Then get up. Go take a hot bath or a shower it will break up the muscle and then do some stretching in the legs to help the calf.

Muscle contraction causing a "charley horse"
A muscle cramp is a sudden, uncontrolled contraction of a muscle. This type of pain is most commonly experienced in the legs, and therefore often called a leg cramp or a "charley horse."
Leg cramps occur when the muscle suddenly and forcefully contracts. The most common muscles to contract in this manner are muscles that cross two joints. These muscles include the calf (crossing the ankle and knee), the hamstring (crossing the knee and hip), and the quadriceps (also crossing the knee and hip).

Leg cramps usually last less than one minute, but may last several minutes before the contraction subsides. In some patients, the leg cramps occur primarily at night, and can awaken the patient from sleep.
yes it's called cramp.
I have not experienced it...but it could be from lack of calcium. I've heard of such a pain from not having enough calcium in your diet.
yes I take it you mean a charley horse. Are you drinking enough water
it's called a charley horse, not sure why. if you eat a banana a day it will take care of it!
yes you have to excerzie your muscles more.its a tight muscle in your legs
It's a charlie horse. Your potassium is low!
may be what we call a charlie horse but if the problem persists contact your physician it may be a positive homan's sign that indicates a blood clot but dont jump to that conclusion. i get cramps in my leg all the time. put a warm compress on it. it will relax the muscle
drink water and get some potassium in ya!
maybe you move your legs a lot when sleeping, gives you cramps sometimes.
