Accident during lab?

Question:
Today when I was doing the lab at school. I spilled sulfuric acid on my hand. It wasn’t a lot, only a big drop, but it was burning and painful. I washed it with water for about 5-7 min. I wanted to know will there be future complications. Is there any treatment I should carry out at home?

Thanks

Answers:
Don't worry about it. I worked with lead-acid batteries for years. I've had acid all over me so many times... even in my eyes and mouth! The water was a good idea, but water mixed with baking soda would have worked better. By now it has been washed away, but if it makes you feel more secure, scrub the area with the soda. No worries!
Just normal first aid--if skin is broken use antiseptic and a bandaid.
