I can see this unusual stuff in my left eye, what is it?
Question:
Now i can see this unsual stuff going around my left eye and it is very annoying...
I would like to know what it is......
Answers:
It sounds like bruised tissue that sloughed off (or blood, it can be almost microscopic in size but will seem larger in your line of vision) and is now floating around. It could also be dirt, but you can tell easily by staring at a white or light colored wall. Focus on an unseen spot on the wall, but turn just your eyes left to right. Turn them up and down, and several times repeat this.
Watch the blur of the stuff floating in your line of vision. If it returns to the same spot then it's damaged tissue and you need to see a Doctor as soon as you can. If it free floats, and doesn't follow a path or land in the same spot once you hold your eye still - then it's likely on the outside of your eyeball and is dirt or debris.
Rinse your eyes out with water (warm water) and see if it helps. Anytime you are hit in the eye though, you should go see a Doctor ASAP, even if you have to go to the ER room. The doctors have the correct equipment to easily check your eye and see if there is any damage, and they know how to fix it.

you need to go to the hospital right now!!!!!!!!!!!
AWW.........i thought i was the only one to get it !!!!!!!!
is it like a fire bolt? that is what i had.........
well im not sure what it is...............but i know its due to stress and strain. try washing your eye with coldwater and sleep for a long time . also try applying hair oil to your head.
If it looks like tiny fireworks it is a symptom of a detached retina. or detaching retina. If that is the case get to the hospital emerge NOW.! It could cause blindness if ignored. If it looks like small floating dots and just a few of them they may be "floaters" which are white blood cells.
Get it checked please don't take chances.
Dan.
see the Dr. ASAP
Getting hit in the eye can definately cause a retinal detachment, this could cause permanent loss of vision. Since you are seeing unusual things in that eye you really need to see a doctor now. Call your optometrist or ophthalmologist immediately and explain what happened and the signs and symptoms you've been experiencing. Please get to the doctor ASAP!
