has anyone taken ativan and effexor togther?

Question:

I am taking 75 mg effexor daily, and ativan 2x a day as needed. They are .5 mg, but i took .75 mg tonight cause i am freaking out with anxiety. does anyone else take these 2 together for anxiety? do they work well?

I really doubt that it is the effexor. The dosage of Ativan that they have you on is very low and Ativan is a short lasting drug. I know because I used to take it also and it didn't even take away the anxiety that I was feeling. You need to talk to your doctor and let him know that you are still feeling the anxiety and that you do not think that the Ativan works very well for you. I take Xanax and it works great for me but it doesn't mean that is will work great for you. Talk to your doctor honey. Good Luck
