Dr. out there? gotta killler sore throat & no voice?

Question:
Hi. probably have to break down and go to the dr. but, gotta sore throat that hurts all the way into my chest.. just looked at it and have little white sores down the very back of my throat. Have no voice. Not really congested, maybe a little. Dont think I have a fever. No voice and sore throat for 6 days now..any diagnosis?

Answers:
laryngitis..its viral and will clear up on its own. You could have picked up a secondary bacterial infection which would need to be treated with antibiotics. Go to the doc. Good luck.

Other Answers:
gargle (sp) a mouth full of half hydrogen peroxide and half water, once a day in your case. give it time to take its affect.
Until you see a docter you can stir equal parts of honey and apple cider vinegar together, gargle and swallow the mixture. This helps relieve pain and kill the infection. If you're allergic to honey use maple syrup.
First try gargling with warm salt water several times a day. If not better in 3 days go to your doctor to get some antibiotics.
Try this: Drink as much as you can of anything hot or eat cold popsicles. (both worked for me) Then as often as you can, (every hour or so when awake) gargle with a cup of warm water with a teaspoon of salt in it. This sounds crazy, but eat a bag of salt and vinigar chips. It really does help, because the salt and vinigar then coat the throat and the bacteria/virus do not like that. They can not grow so well in a salty acidic environment. Stay away from sweets and milk for a bit. Drink orange juice or cranberry. And try to get some rest.

I used to get so many sore throats, and these things help. Try tylenol or advil for pain. Then I go tmy tonsils out, and that helped some.
