Have you ever had a steroid shot for your lower back and does it really help?
Question:
Answers:
Yes--I have had two and they gave me relief for over a year.
I suggest having these shots done under floroscope in radiology. That way they can see better where they are going and reduces the risk of hitting a nerve.
Having said all this--they dont always work for everyone and it is a limited treatment. In other words--not something you want to do a lot.
On that note--becareful because the ESI injections are big money for the clinics. You do not want more than what is needed or healthy.
Cortisone injections are commonly used to treat arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis and other inflammatory joint conditions. The success rate for pain reduction and improved range of motion is very high, but it is not a cure.
