several people at my job have it and i dont want to catch it from them.

You can, if you touch it, or if you share a towel in the gym or something like that.

You can't get it from sitting in the same room with them.

It spreads thru its oil.Most of the time, it's not contagious, but hot showers get the oils moving, as do scratching. As long as y'all are just working, you should be fine (if you wear uniforms there, you might request having the same one to use).

The main "poison" is an oil. It is called Urushiol (spelling). Yes, if the person still has the oil on them it is contagious. No oil, no problem
