Definition of "Leg Dangling" in medical terms.?

Question:

Answers:
I don't think that there is an actual medical term for "leg dangling". I am a nurse that works on a post-op floor and if a doctor wants us to have a patient sit up at the bedside and dangle their legs, they pretty much right it as such. They may write "Dangle at bedside post-op Day 1"
which means we would sit them up and let their legs hang off the side of the bed. As the other answerer has written, it is usually done to allow a person's blood pressure to adjust slowly to avoid postural hypotension (sudden drop in BP).
Hope this helps.
in medical terms the patient is to allow the "lower extremities" or legs as we lay people like to call them,to dangle off the side of the bed when rising from a lying position to allow blood to reach the head. Sorry i don't have a medical term for "dangle".
