dry lips from cold sore! help!?

Question: my lips are so dried and it hurts, and i dont know what to do! is there any home remedis because i cant get anything until tommoro, does a chapstick work, i have the medicated one.

there is an over the counter vitamin supplement called L-LYSINE.. if you take 1 every 2-3 hours when you first feel that tingle lots of thimes the cold sore wont even come out... and if it does its not near as big and doesnt last near as long.
also you could take 1 pill daily for reduction in occurance of outbreaks.
