what do you think of the idea of the fat tax?

Question:
there trying to charge junk food and fast food restraints for there products. If you think this is a good idea. then think of this. the same people that want a fat tax want to legalize weed. what do you think.

Answers:
California tried a "junk food" tax back in the 1980s. It didn't last long. Nobody could really decide what was "junk" food. Of course the junk food manufacturers helped confuse the issue with their PR firms working overtime clouding up the common sense opinions of what is and what is not junk.

A fast food tax won't happen, and if it does, it won't last long.

Other Answers:
I think you have no idea what you are talking about.

it would l guess help with all of these obesity problems I don't think that a fat tax is good. And I want to legalize weed and I don't want the fat tax so I don't think every person that wants that tax and every person who wants to legalize weed is in that together.

I think both the fat tax and legalization of weed are good ideas!

I think we ought to have a fat tax AND keep weed illegal! Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!. That was fun, ask another one.

Fat tax and weed.Mutually exclusive. I think both ideas are good ones. Cigarettes and alcohol are a lot more dangerous than weed - both to the user and the user's surroundings.
Fast food restaurants sell unhealthy food. Did you see "Supersize me"? Did you see how the food impacted the guy's body? It's pure poisen. It should be taxed. Even if the tax only goes to raise the price of fast food and thus make it less accesible.

I think the government should criminalize sugar. As for weed, it should be de-criminalized, not legalized. I think it's a great idea. Smokers and drinkers shouldn't be the ones to carry the tax burden. Fatty and junk foods pose a more immediate health risk than tobacco. As far as legalizing marijuana for recreational use, consider the fact that marijuana poses less a health risk than alcohol, tobacco, and junk food (unless of course you get the munchies). Have you ever heard of anyone overdosing on marijuana? Ever hear of people getting violent while under the influence of marijuana as they do with alcohol? Could you imagine the millions of dollars the US, State, and local governments could reap in taxes off junk food and marijuana? It's about time someone started making sense, and if I have an opportunity to vote for it, I most certainly WILL. I'm tired of paying for some tubby slob's health problems with the taxes I pay on things I choose to buy. It's about time they make an attempt to pull their own weight (all puns intended).
