For nurses and other medical professionals. in your opinion, is the best field of nursing to go into?

I will graduate from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans in May 2007, and i just wanted to get some opinions of what is a good place to spend my career, or at least to start my career. Is it better to go to a hospital, or to go to a private practice? Are there places that are better than others? Just share some information if you please. Thanks

I work at Ochsner Hospital. We have many openings in different dept. The reason I am stating that because you can work pool and you will gain the opportunity to work in different departements then you will be able to choose which is best for you. After 6 months of employment you can apply for a full time job if you like within the hospital. You can apply online at Ochsner.org/employment. Good Luck with your decision.

Cardiovascular ICU, the only set backs are MD's with the biggest God complex(usually). I love the pts. It's exciting and rewarding. I've learned alot and continue to learn every time I work. It has been a tremendous accomplishment! Good luck and welcome, you have picked a very difficult, but rewarding profession. I couldn't see doing anything else.
