What is pitch in regards to computed tomography?
Question:
Answers:
Pitch, in regards to computer tomography, is the ratio of table feed to slice collimation per rotation. (Collimation is the method, in radiology, of restricting and confining the x-ray beam to a given area and, in nuclear medicine, of restricting the detection of emitted radiations from a given area of interest.)
So, it looks like pitch is how slow/fast the table is being entered into the scanning area while the x-ray beam is rotating around the area. Faster the table moves, wider the space between x-rays... Sound right?
