Should I get a second oppinion?

Question:
I got injured at work by someone and she accidently rolled over my foot with a cart. I waited a month to see the doctor. I finally went to the doctor with no health insurance and he only spent 5 minutes with me. All he wanted to know is if I had an x-ray done on my foot when the injury happened and I said no. He said to wiggle my toes which i barely did my it hurt very badly like a 10. Then after he did that he said i can go home. But what bothers me is he didn't say go get an x-ray or say what to do with my foot? It's like now what should I do. Should he of sent me to get an xray but I did wait a long time. But wouldn't a doctor like to know if you have any torn tissue or ligaments? It was like your ok get out of my office, one of those things, you know.Should I get a second oppinion? I could barely wiggle my toes and he didn't say go get an x-ray or anything, what to do with my foot. Should I go get an second oppinion. Most doctors only spend like 5 minutes with the patient.

Answers:
What you're describing does not seem like a very thorough evaluation. If this injury happened at work, it may be considered workman's comp. Check with your employer and request an evaluation by a workman's comp M.D. If it is workman's comp, your employer is responsible for providing/paying for treatment.

If I were you, I would definitely get a second opinion. You definitely need an Xray and probably lots of physical therapy depending on what's causing your pain.

Other Answers:
yes. if you don't trust your doctor's opinion then go find someone you do trust. search the web for well rated doctors, or ask a friend who they go to.
Yes. If you are not happy with that Dr. then by all means go ahead
Terll your employer, it's workers compensation.
If it hurts that badly, see another doctor. If needed go to the ER.

Moving the toes, twisting the ankle all shows that if you can do it nothing is broken.

You did not say if there is swelling?

Technically speaking work should be paying for this and having you see one of their doctors.

Idea? Perhaps you "magically get better" (don't say anything for a few days). Then "reinjure" your ankle at work (use your imagination), report it right away, fill out papers, etc. Then see one of their doctors. As it is right now you waited too long and work will say they're not responsible for a 30 day old injury.

ALWAYS REPORT WORK INJURIES WITHIN 24 HOURS!!!
Tell you supervisor that this was an injury that happened at work. Then they should have a way to get your foot looked at that should be no cost to you. Most employers pay for workers comp insurance. If it happened at work then it shouldn't cost you a thing.
This is a sad thing to say but when he found out you had no insurance and that you were a self pay patient, he really did not think any further because he probably felt you had no money to pay for the xrays. Do the only thing you can go to find out if in fact your foot is broken or not, go see an orthopedist or a physician who has the capability of doing xrays in the office so that you will not have to pay an additional fee to a radiologist for reading your films. definitely get a second opinion. Good luck.
