my *** is killing me.. here's why?

Question: I was racing a few friends across a slippery street, and I fell on my *** in the middle of the crosswalk and slid all the way up the curb on the other side. Now my *** is really sore, especially when I'm lying down. What can I do to make it heal quickly and properly?

it just takes time for the pain to go away. for now, just sleep on your stomach..and maybe go to the fridge and grab some ice cream or cake to get your mind off it.

You may have also bruised the bone, which I believe is the equivelant to damaging it without breaking it. I slid down the stairs once and hit my *** on every stair, it wasn't broke but hurt for over a month. You should always have a doctor check it though in case it is broke, not sure what they can do for a broken tail bone though. :(

You may have shattered your coccyx. I would say have x rays to be sure. You can use a donut cushion when sitting and treat any break in the skin with anti biotic ointment. Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your legs to help at night. And ibuprofen or naproxen sodium might help reduce the inflammation. But be sure and see a doctor if the pain lingers.and lay off the racing for a couple of weeks.
