Oh huni, you're obviously a very caring owner, but please don't worry. I'm not a vet but i do know about these things. My guess is that the bruise will have developed from when they gave him the injection, just as many humans bruise as well. Even if that's not it there are a million ways that he could have acquired that bruise that would be so difficult for you to have noticed. The only thing I'm certain of is that the vet would never hurt the animal and if he had got hurt back there the vet would have told you. Please don't worry huni, you're rabbit is fine and I promisee promis promise that the vet did nothing deliberately wrong
why not treat the problem directly.by calling the vet or vet who dealt with him.could've been an IV from another area..just ask them without laying out a case for your suspicions...could'vejust an innocent bump ??I have a four year old chi.who is nasty, mean, etc. and probably not apt to entice people to "like him" but I would feel very badly if anyone mistreated him..try and give them the benefit of the doubt and approach logically.and just asking...
I would mention it to your vet but My theory is that during the restraining of him for the blood work he may have acquired the bruise
I would recommend that from now on you hold your dog while at the vets at all times or let them do their job. I choose to restrain my very aggressive cat for that reason My vet and I had a discussion on this same issue and I was told that my cat did not like having needles poked in him and they classified him in his records as aggressive but I did not like the way they would restrain him so I know restrain my cat he still gets bruised now and then but at least I know how they are put there
Where were the subcutaneous fluids injected? To me, that is the most likely source of a large bruise, and it happens in some cases. On the chest under the "arm" is not a usual place for a bruise due to abuse or mishandling. Also a bruise from a bump would probably be smaller. I would ask the vet about it. If you don't like the answer, you can go elsewhere.
