excessive farting, how to control?

Question:
sometimes with big sound, and sometimes with foul odour

Answers:
It's often caused by certain vegetables such as beans, cauliflower, cabbage and the like. It's also sometimes associated with lactose intolerance. But a large part of flatulence is caused by aerophagia (gulping air) during eating and drinking. Carbonated drinks can also contribute to this. Anything you don't belch has to come out the other end sooner or later.

So: Slow down your eating and drinking, trying not to gulp your food too much. Cut down on beans and sodas. Go for a walk after a meal, outdoors where it's safe.

There is also a product called "Beano" which may help. It works by breaking down the complex sugars that can produce flatulence.

If it continues to be a problem, see a doctor about whether you have lactose intolerance or some other digestive problem.
