How accurate can an x-ray be in determining the age of a child between 12 and 18?

Question:
If you x-ray the wrist or teeth of a child how close can you get in proving the exact age?

Thanks

Answers:
This is in the area of forensic X-ray and I believe it's very accurate. This method is used in both anthropological and criminal investigations and can detemine the gender, approximate height and nutiritional status at time of death as well as the age.
i don't know much about the dental side but i would think that you could get really close by examining the wrist (within a year at least), but I'm not an x-ray goo roo, it's just a hunch.
