Smoking is highly addictive. Quitting smoking is extremely difficult and hard on you mood, body, and mind.

Plus, smoking is fun. You play with fire and your oh so sensitive lips (even if you don't realize it). You also get a very fast rush of a stimulant.

Other Answers:
Because its good for you really!
Because people don't really care until they get cancer...
I can't answer your question - it's time for my cigarette break
cus its addicted and hard to stop
becaue they are stupid, adn addicted, if you ask a smoker are you additcted adn they say no, they are lieing and if you say could u give up 2morrow they say yes, but it is crap, an addict is always in denial
its an addiction.
kind of like, why do some people think they are black when they are clearly not? its the music, and the lifestyle..its addicting..
because they ae ignorant bastards
because it has become a habit. they are addicted to smoking and it's relly hard and it requires a lot of will power to give up on a addiction even though u know it's bad and injurious to ur health.
addiction. ever think about that smarty pants?
somewhere i heard that there is some kind of drug in tobacco, was it nicotine? yeah. i heard it was addictive. I just want to know, why can't everyone be just like me?
It's addictive.
Free will.
Addiction
Stupidity
I dont smoke...never have...BUT I BET ITS A HARD HABIT TO BREAK
because its really just hard to give up and you get addicted to it.
Addiction, stupidity, and herd mentality.
The nicotine in cigarettes is the ultimate addictive poison.
Its a stronger addiction than heroine. Harder to give up. Mind you, I don't see why young people start smoking knowing all the info we have now. Why don't the government ban them? Obviously its because they are making so much money from taxes!
My husband and some of my step children do smoke despite efforts to quite. What is interesting is that it is more a psychological dependency than a physical one. I watched them try to quit. At first you see the physical issues, but after that its just psychological. Something stressfull would come up and they would always run to the cigarette.
it helps them feel in control and when they are at my house they are outside even in winter when well below 0 they are not hurting my kids lungs
It is an addicition. Most people can't just stop without some sort of assistance. Sometimes people recovering from some other form of addiction feel that cigarettes are all they have left. They may also be in denial about the long-term effects of smoking.

What really bothers me are parents who smoke around their children, especially babies. That's the most dangerous of all, because it can cause asthma and all sorts of childhood illnesses.
because they won't legalize pot, you can't have sex constantly and sucking face in public grosses people out. so we smoke cigs even if it kills us.
I really do not know.I do it all the time and every night in bed I tell myself "I will stop tomorrow" but tomorrow never comes and thats frightening.
because for a lot of people they are addicted and find it hard to stop...

and for other's they don't want to quit as they enjoy smoking, despite what it is doing to them (and others)

my mums smokes and says that she could easily get hit by a bus or get killed some other way than die of some smoking related disease (despite the fact her dad died of lung cancer due to smoking)

its their decision, as long as they arent smoking over us non smokers we should leave them to it
same reason peope still speed on the roads, still drink too much alcohol, eat the wrng foods, mess with guns, take drugs, hang wih the wrong people, participate in dangerous sports, take risks in the work place, ect.ect.ect.
Because people are attracted to danger. If the government wasn't getting so much tax from them they would ban them completely.
For the same reason they overeat when they're obese, drink alcohol when they have liver trouble, and drive automobiles when they know they pollute - because they are free to choose.
Because cigarette smoking is a very heavy addiction. The drug nicotine hits your brain in 30 seconds when inhaled. Once in your bloodstream is addictive right away, unless you stay away from it. And some people want to follow the crowd they are in, wanting to be a part or belong to and be accepted by that group. Not worth it. Recovered smoker. Also media makes it look good, wrong!! It sucks, wish I had never done it, now more prone to a number of illness'es because of it. I started when there were no warnings. It strinks too!! Ugh!
By choice
