Do American lawyers know they are the true culprits behind the skyrocketing health care cost ?

Guess those Dr s that screw up kill and maim people have no responsibility at all. :D

Other Answers:
They probably do but since they make so much $$$$ they do not mind spending more on health care. When I hear about a legal attorney dying, I am usually happy.
Well if they have common sence they would, but I dun think they care as long as they can afford it, they'll b happy.
And I guess they don't care, otherwise they would stop.
Yes, but do they care? Government and laywers sleep in the same bed. Always have and always will. Sucks, eh?
Which means that the REAL culprits are the government and the justice system. The first for not instating a reliable, affordable healthcare system with insurance that people can ACTUALLY afford, the second because courts have been allowing the most frivolous complaints to actually go to trial (one need only think of that whole McDonald's case). Why is this not curbed? Because people are so damn brainwashed with their religious concerns and supporting an unreasonable and unnecessary war overseas that they don't notice the injustices being committed right in front of their eyes. Ignorance is bliss? I don't think so.
Its a very sticky situation. The government cannot start regulating law suits, because everyone has the legal right to a voice and fair trial. They would run the risk of silencing those who truly were in need of legal retribution.

The problem is the justices in office, they allow these ridiculous suits to end up in Court, and to be tried and won without true just cause.

If anything more judges should be VOTED instead of APPOINTED, since thats where the true problem is. Appointed justices have ulterior motives, where as those voted in strive to meet the demands of the voting public.

I believe the government has been trying to lower the over all cost of malpractice insurance, since thats where most the the cost increase stems from. I havent checked recently to see where that lies. But it should be interesting to see how they end up trying to fix it.

Also, the federal, and state governments have been trying to build more free insurance programs for those who cannot afford health coverage. Its a slow go, since revenue is already tight.
If the person having the health problem learned a bit about their own problem, and how to solve it - before relying on doctors, who are human too, and are fallable, stressed, whatever, then better medical decisions might be made, leading to less need for litigation.

Remember Katrina - government is not the solution for all, or maybe, any, social problem. Only you can really help you. Everyone else is just assisting.
Actually its greedy people egged on by the lawyers that sew when ever they get the opportunity. Having an accident in the US is like winning the lottery.
