Is there a certain ingredient in soap that dries out your skin?

Question: I've been using Dove w/ green tea and lately about 3 hours after i use it my skin feels so dry and bad. I was thinking about getting a different kind of soap that wouldn't dry out my skin as bad...is there a certain ingredient or lack thereof that i should avoid? What brands don't dry out your skin? thanks.

the dr. once told me not to use hot water to wash up with..this can also dry out your skin no matter what soap u use...

use Oil of Olay soap. And if the temperature is cold, it is natural that ur skin will be dry. Use lotions with mostiorizer.
