what does delinquent/acti. mean in regards to a doctors medical license?

Question:
Can a doctor practice with a deliquent/active license in Flordia. Who do you report them to if they cannot? If a doctor is not currently licensed, can he present himself as a doctor?

Answers:
In order for a physician to practice medicine in a state, he/she must have an active license to practice in that state. You should be able to check the status of a physician's license at the Florida Board of Medicine, located at www.doh.state.fl.us. You should also report any fraudulent activity to this same Board.

If a person has earned the degree of MD, DO or any other doctorate, that person may legitimately use the title "Doctor;" however, in order to independently practice medicine (or corresponding discipline) or patients, he/she must be granted a license by the state.

Other Answers:
If they're delinquent, that means that they should not be practicing any sort of medicine. Contact the Board of Health. Active is OK and they can practice.
