why have I got blood in my left eye?

Question:
it doesn't hurt and I haven't knocked it, it looks like its spreading up to my pupil and round. it looks horrible but should i be worried? as I have been getting a few head aches.

Answers:
If it is a bright red patch of blood where the white of the eye should be, and there are no other symptoms, it is probably a subconjunctival haemorrage - this is not serious, just a rupture of a small blood vessel caused by a sudden shock (such as sneezing, etc), and should disappear in a few days. If it keeps happening, then there may also be a blood-pressure problem and you should see your GP.
If there is any bleeding behind the cornea (the clear part of the eye showing the iris & pupil) and into the anterior chamber at the front of the eye, then this is more serious and you should go to your opticians or to accident & emergency as soon as possible as it can bring on other conditions within the eye.
you should have an optometrist look at it.a little blood vessel probably broke could be bad if not checked out.
