do i have pink eye?

the corner of my eye is really red, more than the other eye. its not itching so much until i saw that it was red and now it feels like there is something in my eye. The rest of my eye is not red yet but just that corner. do you think its pink eye or a sty?

could be simply conjunctivitis from a virus, (which is what a stye is ) but pink eye is a contagious bacterial infection, often seen in children. Sanitize your towels and washcloths in hot water, (with bleach is best), and avoid sharing them. Handwashing frequently is vital, and avoid itching or touching your eyes. Our family remedy is to make tea, and use the hot teabag covered by a clean damp cloth to make a compress to hold on your eye for 20 minutes or so twice a day while you drink your tea.

Pink eye also known as conjunctivitis can feel different. I had it once when I was pregnant and I had SOO much pain in my eye, it was horrible. Then I've had it after that where it felt scratchy - like something was in there. I guess it depends on the severity of the infection.

well when u sleep it wont hardly let u open ur eyes so it might b a sty see a doctor and be sure - D'oh!

Porbably, that happened to me. If it doesn't clear up in a day / starts to drain this liquidy stuff, go to your doctor immeditely & get antibiotics. It will clear up in about a week. sounds like a sty

Sounds like a sty but i agree with the others go to the doctor to be sure don't suffer longer than you have to and don't let it get serious

When I got pink eye, it felt like I had something in it that wouldn't come out for several days before it even turned pink. But I think your entire eye would turn pink. It could be a stye, or even just a pimple under the skin around your eye, I knew someone who had that. I'd put a warm washcloth on it for 10-15 minutes and see if that helps.

Might be a sty. Look at the top and bottom of your eyelid. If there is a bump on the inner portion of your eyelid, then it is a sty. Go to Walgreen's and talk to the pharmacist, they can recommend a medicine. I don't know the name because I've never had to use it.
