dose anybody have an idea about theory of caring behavior in nursing?
Question:
Answers:
If you are asking how does a nurse demonstrate "caring behavior", I would say that it includes, but is not limited to the following:
1. Calling the patient by his/her name
2. Touching them on the shoulder or hand while you are talking to them.
3. Looking them in the eyes...not through or over them
4. Getting physically down on their level when possible...not always towering over them in the bed or wheelchair.
5. Just a tiny bit of small talk when with them...not just all business
6. Keep your promises...if you say you will be back with a pain pill (or whatever), be sure you are.
7. Respect their privacy and their need to feel in control of their environment and bodies...try to keep them involved in even the most simple decisions.
8. Be the patient's advocate with the doctors and other staff. Make sure they are being treated as you would want to be treated by everybody.
