puss.. ewwwwwwwwwwwwww for real tho it's white blood cells which fight the "infection" when the white blood cells (the clear stuff) mix with the bacteria causing the problem they turn into what is commonly refered to as puss. The color is an indication of how much bacteria there is and how progressed the infection has become. Clear = mostly white cells, Green or brown = REALLY NASTY (lots of problems)
