Are there any non-medicated solutions for sciatic nerve pain?

Question:

Answers:
Depends on what is causing the sciatic nerve pain. The pain can originate in the back or because muscles deep in your but have gone into spasm. Sometimes a bulging disc, irritated nerve root or similar will cause these type symptoms.

If the injury is recent, try to ice it for about 10 minutes every hour. If it feels that your but is in spasm, try heat for around 15 minutes. If in doubt, use ice.

I would suggest seeing a certified McKenzie therapist. Check out www.mckenziemdt.org You can put in your zip code and find your nearest therapist. They also give you some basic advice on the website too.

Nothing beats a thorough evaluation from a good physical therapist. I use many different techniques from TENS, to microstimulation (like accupuncture without piercing the skin) and many other techniques, all without using medications.

Good luck! If I can be of any other help, feel free to email me.

i recently had a baby and had the worst pain, they said that there is nothing to do for it

absolutely see a chiropractor the pain should improve tremendesly after the first adjustment. mds don't want you to know this stuff they make their money off scripts and surgery and your pain! be careful though and do your research like i did to find a healer that is gifted and not just some bozo that got through school. You can try anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen. Sometimes manipulation will help (like from a chiropractor or D.O.) But while it is inflammed (the nerve) there isn't much that helps

Acupuncture and physiotherapy
