How about we tell the auto companies how many people their product kills? Then we can outlaw automobiles? I live in a big crowded city so it is hard to see why some people own guns, but after seeing some other parts of the country I realized that some people really need their guns, to hunt, or protect themselves from animals, or just for sport (what else do they have to do out there but shoot at cans and clay pigeons?) Nonetheless, the have the right to own them. You can choose not to have one in your home if you wish.
No, being that the right to bear arms is in the constitution, you're going to have a pretty hard time outlawing guns. Particularly since I, and most gun owners I know, will not peacefully give up that right.
The use of any properly operating product is the sole responsibility of the user. Be it a car, baseball bat, crowbar, knife, toxin, 15th story window, gun or otherwise. It’s unfortunate that some people will implement an item for unsavory purposes, but it isn’t the manufacturer’s fault. I don’t understand the modern day insistence of laying blame on those who had nothing to do with a crime or offense.
