Are you the "other patient"?

Question:
The nurse practitioner has always seen me. I've never actually seen my doctor. She's always "with another patient". Who's the other patient? How the heck did that patient get to see her?

I wonder if my doctor exists...

Answers:
haha! I guess I am not the only one this happens to!

Other Answers:
you have the right to refuse the practitioner and demand to see your doctor, if not let your insurance company know about it. I went through this also and they did what i wanted they had no choice I'm paying.
When you make an appointment, make sure you ask specifically to see your doctor, and not the NP. Some offices have the NP on only on specific days, and will "overbook", and reroute as many paitents as possible to the NP.
