Is my foot sprained? Broken?
Question:
Answers:
Probably not broken, but could be , only an xray will say. Ligimets and tendons have a poor blood supply and take a long time to heal.

Spell the alphabet with your foot to keep the range of motion good.
Point tenderness is a sign of a fracture, like say one spot has a real sharp pain when touched.

id see a doctor. try icing it for 20 minues. or try alternating heat and ice for an hour. thats what my doctor told me to do when i hurt my neck.
No hun, you're foot isn't broken... BELIEVE ME! I've been down the broken foot road... if it was broken, you wouldn't be able to walk on it AT ALL! I mean, if you even tried, you'd be able to feel it broken. And the ER will definately X-Ray it. Hospitals can't turn away patients.
go to the er, they cant refuse you, there is a federal law stating so, and they have to post it, and yes they will xray it to make sure it isnt broken.
besides, you might meet a cute doctor *giggle*
You don't say what happened, though. Did you injure it or drop something on it?
My thought would be to go to the ER. They can bill you and as long as you pay a little on it each month, you'll be fine.
You need an x-ray if you can't walk on it. If you don't get it checked and it's fractured, it will heal wrong and you'll always have problems with it.
Good luck!
You should have had it X-rayed right away. Could be a hairline fracture. If you are dead set against going to the hospital, then at least get an air cast and keep your weight off of it (do you have crutches?)
I would see a doctor and stop walking on it ask around for someone who will give you crutches or sell you some. when i broke my big toe (yeah i know it sounds weird) my toes were all black and blue but it healed in three weeks but it was a very tiny fracture maybe it will take a bit longer o heal just let it rest you should be fine.
It could be both, but the foot is likely sprained, mostly.
they say if your foot is broken you wouldn't be able to walk on it i fractured my ankle the bone hurts bad for 6 months now cant afford the doc so use crutches and let it heal it could be what i figured mine is hairline or stress fracture if its that it would hurt to walk and you wouldn't want to mine hurt for along time and it wasn't that swollen
