Broken nose... is it causing the problems?
Question:
and sometimes I'll have a lot of pressure on the bridge of my nose. I have a small bump there too. All a result of breaking my nose.
I think my nose might have swelled up too since breaking it.
So now, what do I do? I really need to get the breathing problem fixed and I'd like to have the bump be gone. I talked to my mom and she said it'd be good to have surgery and get it fixed.. but who would do this surgery anyway? Should I go to the hospital? How long would it take for me to have to wait for it..?
Answers:
I broke my noses years ago. I have had some tonsile problems recently. So I went to see an ENT doctor (Ear, Nose, Throat). After having CT scan done at the hospital, he diagnosed a deviated septum. He indicated he could fix it with surgery and it would help with my breathing. I didn't do it yet but if I had from my first appointment to the surgery would have been 6-8 weeks. The ENT doctor would schedule the surgery at the hospital.
Alot depends on your insurance - you most likely have to get a referral from your primary doctor to see the ENT and have them pay for it. You might try to call your primary doctor and get a referal over the phone or call your insurance directly, but I haven't had much luck going that way. I wouldn't expect going to the Emergency Room to be very fruitful for a long term solution. I would go if you feel like you are in danger though.
speak with your family Dr. about your concerns and if Mom is okay with it ,see a specialist about having a repair job done on the nose =good luck
Bela i am no doctor but it sounds bad, u should go talk about this to a doctor so that he can tell u what options u have and what u can do about it.. consulting a doctor is definitely the best thing u can do. he will have most of the answers for u
just take out the material from ur nose & eat it..it tastes like spaghetti!! yummm..
