Really bad sunburn!?
Question:
Answers:
Find a 100% pure aloe gel at your local drug store. Lather it on and keep the affected area lathered for several days. While your burn is still hot to the touch, use ice packs occationally to cool the skin, but don't put ice directly onto the skin. Finally, Tylenol will help with pain or discomfort.
Best Wishes
A neighbor once recommended to me the use of "Noxema" to aid in the soothing of pain & in the healing process of a serious sunburn. After that, it just takes time to heal.
take a cool bath with oatmeal in it.
Noxema is not a good idea, the aloe is fine and some gentle skin creams (Keri, Cocoa butter) may help but do not use on blistered areas if you develop any.
Take tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil (ibuprofen) for pain and also try cool compresses to the areas. Often skin becomes itchy when it is healing - and it can be very annoying Benedryl often can help with the itch. Be cautious not to get any more sun exposure and wear sunscreen when exposed to avoid further damage to your skin esp while healing.
(NOTE: Medications should not be taken unless you know you can take them safely and you are sure you have no allergy to them otherwise consult with your doctor about the advil or tylenol and the benedryl)
Try the Aloe Vera Green Ice that can be purchased at your local convience store.
Make sure you don't re-expose that part of your skin to the sun! It can really start to hurt if you burn through another layer of skin. If you think this is pain try to layers burnt! If you have to expose it make sure that it is basted in sunscreen, but don't spend over an hour outside because many sunscreens start to wear off after then.
Do not pick at peeling skin!!! It just makes things worst and your skin more tender. You have to let your body do it's own work, so don't help it along!
good luck :]
