How bad is it for you to get less then 3 hours of sleep?

Question:
The average amount of sleep that I get is usually around 3 or 4 hours. I've read all these things where you need 8+ hours. But I function just fine with just a few hours. I'll even go to bed but I'll wake up 3 1/2 hours later and can't go back to sleep (ex. go to bed at 10, am awake by 1 or 2 wide awake and can't go back to sleep) But seriously, how bad exactly is it?

Answers:
Hmm... you must be one of the lucky few who can actually manage on very little sleep. If you're not tired, then it's really not a problem! Maybe your brain just sleeps very efficiently! See the link below for details on determining just how much sleep you need. But it sound like you already know.
You need to visit with your doctor about that. You could have something chemically wrong in your brain that could easily be fixed. Eventually, that little of sleep will take a toll on your body and mind. Good luck and look into it.
That must be nice... Im not sure if its good or bad though. My mom once told me about this doctor she went to and he would only sleep about 4 hours a night and this doc was older but he had so much energy and could even put his leg behind his head and stuff lol. So it can't be bad for everyone I guess!! I wish I only needed that much sleep... I could get so much accomplished!!
