Reduce the amount of tablets you take daily very slowly. Reduce one every seven days. This will keep you from feeling violent Withdrawal symptoms.
Here is what I suggest to get you over the worst part of the withdrawals.
To help with the withdrawals take hot bathes with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. The skin is the biggest organ of elimination and this will help pull out the drugs. Use a loofa to clean the pores and this will help pull the drugs out even faster.
I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.
I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day and 2c. a day of fresh carrot juice, to flush the medicine out of your liver. Taking 500mg of calcium and magnesium twice a day will help you to relax.
Drink chamomile tea throughout the day and evening to help you stay relaxed.
Use a powdered fiber supplement twice daily to pull the drugs out of your intestines where they store.
Two of the questionnaires in this forum did follow this program to withdraw from drugs and it did help. I've enclosed a link where you can read their response to this program.

Withdrawing without drugs won't kill you. You'll feel like death warmed over but you will survive it. See your doc
I was very addicted to hydrocodone for 5yrs., taking approx 20 10/mg a day. I had to get on methadone. Wow it helped so much. No withdrawl, no problems at all. But do rember methadone is addicting. So then i slowley detox off of methadone and zero problems now., and no more hydrocodone in my life.
Start by decreasing your dosage by a 1/4 of a pill each time you take them until you are down to a 1/4 of a pill. Do not stop cold turkey as it is hell. I did and for 3 days I was useless. Sick as hell. Once you are done with them do exactly what the other poster said...take hot baths, drink green and chamomile tea, fiber supplement, immodium ad as well and have some tylenol or excedrin on hand. No way around it though. It is gonna be uncomfortable. If you want to relapse to feel comfortable just remember you are going to have to go through it again. Good luck.
Billie 77 has a great regimen to follow. A more traditional method would be to tell your doctor that you want to take a "drug holiday" (recommended minimum 1 week twice a year).S/he will be able to help you with a med to help ease the miseries (my doctor gives me catapres, a blood pressure med that helps a lot with the kicks, etc), but if you've been taking hydrocodone for two years, expect to feel like full-scale flu for at least two weeks.
Stay hydrated, do what you can to make yourself comfortable, and Immodium works best for the diarrhea. Good luck
