Question:
I made the mistake of walking in shoes without socks yesterday and developed blisters on my heels. The one blister popped and the skin tore off. I have kept it covered with a bandaid and neosporin, however it is quite red and painful. Any suggestions? It almost looks like it is a thin piece of skin covering blood.
Answers:
scrub the heck out of it with water and antibacterial soap. reapply neosporin and keep it covered. you shouldn't lose the foot this time.
Rinse it out really well and keep using the neosporin. It sounds as though a gauze pad would be a better idea than a bandaid - high risk of infection needs better coverage.
