If I pierced my nose, can I get a keyloid?

Question:
I'm an African American female and, as you may or may not know, we are very prone to keyloids. I already have three, one coming from a pierced earlobe. I really want to get my nose pierced but I'am not sure if keyloids can grow out of that area. There's more cartilage in the nose region then there is tissue, I believe, which wouldn't allow a keyloid to form but I dont know for sure. I'm not going to get my nose pierced if they do. Anyone know??

Answers:
Yes you are likely to get one. The place where you get the piercing has minimal cartilage, and even if it does the keloid comes from the overlying skin and not the cartilage. My advice would to not get this done. As you are probably aware, keloids are extremely hard to treat. Your nose is one place you definitely do not want a keloid!
a keloid can be produced anywhere there is skin, so yes, you could easily get a keloid if you peirced your nose, especially since you got one on your ear.
