Where is the biggest cut in gall bladder surgery?

Question:
Talked with 2 surgeons, one said the biggest cut is right at the naval (12mm). The other one (more experienced) said now there are new smaller camera so the naval cut can be small (5mm), so he makes the biggest cut right below the chest in the middle of torso. I wonder anybody had this kind of cut? Is this supposed to be more painful?

Answers:
My biggest one was right on the button. Strangely enough, it's not painful. When I woke up I was upset that they cut my navel, but other than getting a little krusty, there was little pain.

A year later you won't notice it,regardless.
not sure for men but i was just reading about a new procedure for women where they can have their gall bladders removed through the vaginal opening so no outside incisions are made.
My mom has it done. . .there were 3 cuts. . .one in the navel and 2 on the side where the instruments went in. She said that is was relatively painless, more uncomfort.
The second surgeon is correct. I had the surgery done about 4 years ago and the only scar I have is right below and to the right of my sternum and is about an inch long and very faint. Surgery was outpatient and I was home that night and almost completely back to normal within 48 hours.

Not a lot of pain but definitely uncomfortable; after all, they have to lift up your liver to get to your gall bladder!
I had 4 small cuts, one in naval, 3 across my middle. I still have a scar from 1 of the 3 but my naval is deep cause I am a bit fluffy so that is the one I had the most trouble with. I only took one pain pill and that was for the ride home. After that if I got a little achey I took Tylenol.
