Why are most ,not all doctors receptionists on a power trip?

Question:

Answers:
you are so right!

perhaps it's because they do have power. They know very well how their words can affect your day. They have a heart of stone and an IQ to match, yet their nose points high to the sky which is why they have to look down their nose to see you.

They will willingly give a 90yr old who is sick as a dog an appointment two weeks away. And believe me the doctors aren't happy about that! Doctors will tell patients to make the receptionist talk to them first before making the appointment to avoid that same situation.

I also agree any receptionist who views any client as having less status than themselves tends to treat that client with distate.

Maybe they have an inferiority complex as they have such a dumbarse job and they cover their low self esteem by making other people feel bad too!
they need time off too
I think it's a receptionist thing. Think about it all the ones in high school in the attendance office, all the ones in their respective college offices at University, they're all on power trips and are quite rude and talk down to the students and such...
Usually older women with attitude problems of,You shall
not pass. The only help they give is sorry Doctor
is booked up ring at eight thirty tomorrow morning but
when i tell them doctor wants to see me because of
a blood test i had, suddenly she gives me an appointment.
I would say because they arent the actual doctor, and the doctor is there boss and tells them what to do. Also they are usually older and probably dont get paid enough.
