Your personal experiences with Tramadol ?

Question:
No quotes from any sources, please, I am interested in personal, live person first hand experiences with it and what are you using it for?

I have six damaged vertebrae, 3 in the neck, 3 in the lower back, all 3 each in a row so they cannot be fused and use it (tramadol) when the pain gets so bad that I cant focus my eyes.

Answers:
Hi, I get stabbing pains in my chest, sides and back, which are symptoms of pulmonary embolisms and a subsequent bout of pneumonia. I take a pretty strict regime of Ibuprofen and paracetamol everyday, but when the pain gets really harsh I use Tramadol.

Tramadol generally makes me sleepy and always makes me nauseous, so I take an anti nausea pill along with it.

For me, its effective in dulling the pain, but I try not to use it unless things get dire.

Your injuries sound awful, I'm so sorry you have to deal with such pain - I hope you are able to find some relief, whether with Tramadol or something else... take care and good luck.
My doc wants to change my prescription to those. I've heard bad reports and lots of side effects from them. So I am wary about getting a new prescription. Are you having problems with them?
I have a herniated disc at L4/L5. I took tramadol for break through pain as well as norco for regular pain and soma for a muscle relexant, so the side effects i experienced may be do to the mixture of medications. When I first started taking tramadol for about two weeks it gave me a bad headache, but after that no other side effects and it works.
I've taken it on and off for almost 10 years for cramps. Now, my doctor prescribes it to me for fibromyalgia. Ever since I have been taking it for this condition I get horrible headaches. I'm taking about 2 more pills every day than I used to. It doesn't help at all with my fibro. My doctor told me to stay on it. I know that this is the med that is causing my headaches and it doesn't work. I'm thinking that maybe you get immune to the effects or something. And, I've also heard that you can get headaches as a side effect. I may be getting them from taking a larger amount than before. This is my experience and I'm pretty P***** about it.
i had a very bad wound and I took it for break thru pain it helped some
