I fell in gym class 20 years ago.I landed wrong with my neck bending too far. I lost some feeling in my back.?

Question:
When I fell, I heard bones crack. I had severe pain when it first happened. I went to an orthopedic specialist who took an x-ray, but couldn't find anything wrong on the x-ray. He gave me neck exercises to do. I lessened the pain a little because it caused my back to crack. I basically was told that there was nothing that could be done because they couldn't find anything. I lived with pain because I believed that. Now, 20 years later, I still have back pain, only I now feel bones moving in my neck. I never know when they are going to move or crack. I have to use my fingers to push them back in. I went to the dr. who took an x-ray and said that it was fine, nothing was wrong. I can't move my neck well and I still have pain. I basically forced the dr. to schedule an MRI. I'm nervous that something serious may be wrong and they won't find anything. I'm not sure what to do

Answers:
see what this doc. says, and if it's the same as the others go to a lawyer . he'll probably send you to see a doc. who works with or for him. he can get all their records. next time the bones pop out, leave them out and go to the doc. for x-rays.
Wow, this is really upsetting!!

If the MRI doesn't show anything, then you should get several opinions. Hopefully this isn't costing you anything! Insurance covers this, I hope, because hospital visits can get expensive!! But really, I would seek more then just one doctors help, some are just ignorant, and once they see that nothing is wrong, they will keep telling you that.

Good luck, and I hope you get better.
