How Can I Cure a Kink in the Neck?
Question:
Answers:
Use heat on the area, it will loosen it and feel better
Perhaps you need a firmer pillow, try that first before you drop the big bucks for a chiropractor.
vinegar and baking soda
that happened to me this weekend take a really hot shower, then take some ibuprophen and keep heat on it should give you alot of mobility back.
Apply heat for 15 min.
Then head tilting down, slowly look aright as far as you can, then left
Lift you head slightly and do the same exercise
Lift head a little more and do it again etc
Take aleve
Don't bother with a Chiropractor
warm up a washcloth and keep on for 10 mins on neck
then keep ice on it for 10 min on neck
get warm oil and massage it yourself for like 20 min
and at night keep a soft pillow by your neck
if all that doesnt work buy those pillows that go around your neck (i forgot what they're called)
Within the first day or so, use ice to cool the muscles and reduce swelling. After the 2nd day, try heating pads. Alternate on and off every 15 minutes or as comfortable.
Ibuprofen helps reduce swelling & inflamtion from the injury, too. Take a nice bath or jacuzzi if you can.
No sharp movements or severe stretching-that will make it worse.
Im sure you know all this if you have back problems... Hope it helps you!
Cheers!
I would try alternating hot with cold. Try a hot shower and then ice it, then heating pad (or one of those bean/rice filled things that you microwave -- I love them!). I would also take some ibruprophen/anti-inflam medicine before the shower. Also, give your pillows a good fluff before you hit them again tonight. You may even want to arrange them so your head is more supported and you'll be less inclined to wiggle and have the pain disturb your sleep. Take the medicine as much as directed on the bottle and keep alternating heat/ice if you can during the day. Gently massage the area too. But if it isn't better in a day or so, try calling the doctor... maybe your chiropractor has an answering service who can refer you to someone else. Good luck! Feel Better!
