Should you take Geodon once or twice a day?

Question:
My husband was taking Geodon 20 mg at 10pm which wasn't enough so the Dr. increased it to 20 mg at 10pm and 20mg at noon. It makes him so tired all evening - Does anyone know or does anyone take Geodon just once a day? If so, should it be taken at 7pm or 10pm? Please help. Thanks.

Answers:
I received your question, and hopefully you got my email. We prefer our clients to take it once a day. However, the dose you are mentioning is quite low for an adult, usually this dose we use on Children. Always take with food, because you only get half of the medication when you take it without food. Shown in studies. Adults are put on 80mg. Instead of 80 in morning and 80 at night, we have the client take one dose of 160 at dinner time. The dose should be morning and night if it is being dosed bid (twice a day), not in the afternoon, which may be causing the drowsiness. We recommend 1 pill at dinner.
I took this med. I could barely function I was so tired. If your husband can, he should try something else. Geodon is not worth the side effects. Good luck :)
