Question:
So for a while I've had moderate pain in my right knee. It's on the left side of the knee (towards the other leg). I've looked at the anatomy of the knee and it seems it's where the meniscus is. I don't notice any swelling, and I get pain in the knee when I extend it but not when I bend it. Also, this knee also pops (not audibly) when fully extended, and I can see the bottom portion of my leg rotate counter-clockwise for maybe a 1/4 inch.
I've been to the doctor for this before but she said it was "most likely a weakness in the quad muscle, not holding the knee cap in place properly.
So I've worked out with extra leg extensions (which hurts when I do so on the right knee) and I haven't had any relief. Do I need to keep training the muscle? Or do you think I have something else wrong with my knee?
Answers:
Get to an orthopedist and have a correct diagnosis. You may be injuring yourself with the exercising. If might not be the meniscus but the ACL which "holds" the kneecap in place. Good luck!
