How long do your ears hurt when you have the cartilage pierced?

Cartilage is like soft bone...So don't expect the pain to go
away with a quickness as if you pierced the earlobe..It will
be sore for a couple of days..or a week
It will be tender for a few days, unless you get an infection, in which case it will be much longer.
i have had mine done for over and year and although it doesnt hurt now, it still painfull when i sleep with it sometimes.
it should normally take no longer than 9months
but everyone is different
as long as you bath it at least 2 times a day and keep hair away from it, it should be fine,
but occasionaly it will hurt
I got mine gunned at the mall (which is the worst thing you can ever do for your cartilage, btw... please go to a professional piercer!) and they hurt for a long time. It was painful for me to sleep on my pierced ear for 6 months, maybe? I ended up taking ALL of my cartilage piercings out (and I had 6 total!) because of the pain and trouble they caused me.
Because mine got infected it hurt for 3 months

They tell you to leave in the piercer for 6 months in a cartilage peircing vs. 6 weeks for lobes. My cartilage piercing was sore for the entire 6 months, and it stayed infected. I never could get it to stay cleared up, no matter how clean I kept it. It got bad enough to go to the doctor to check on it. My doctor said it's location (for those of us with long hair) is more exposed to oils, hairspray, etc. I couldn't even sleep on that side. I finally got fed up and took it out after 8 months.

Mine on the top right didnt hurt very long..But the one of the left is in the middle..

The top right is like it not even there..

Never bothers me at all..Like its not even there..
