Is it physically damaging to stay up all night alot?

Question:
It's impossible for me to sleep at night (believe me i've tried it all), so whenever i get stuck with a double shift at work i just pull an all-nighter the night before (if i take sleeping pills I will be tired all day at work). It happens at least once a week, but i catch up on my sleep on the weekends. Could this cause serious health problems?

Answers:
Yes. When scientists deprived a cat of the stage of sleep where we dream, the cat died. You can seriously harm your body and your mind if you don't sleep. Less energy, depression, elevated stress levels, and who knows what other havoc you are wreaking onto your physical body. Get sleep.
YES, IT'S VERY.BAD.FOR.YOU~~!!

It's very detrimental to your health! When you sleep, your heart beat slows, your liver is detoxing itself, and your body is doing maintenance work on itself. If you don't sleep, you are over-working your heart (NOT GOOD~!) and basically putting your whole system into overdrive. You might not feel the effects right now, but over time, it will erode your system!
