What might i have if my throat is swallen and it hurts to swallow?

Question:

right side of throat is painful, but left side is fine. right side is red and somwhat swollen, left side is not. it is rather painful to swallow anything except warm water.. i have had sore throats before, but nothing like this one!

When someone has strep throat, they always make the comment that it is the most painful sore throat they have ever had. Go see your doctor before it gets worse. Especially if your ear starts to ache.

strep throat, tonsilitis, or even mono. go to the doctor and get antibiotics.

I had that problem a couple of weeks ago. It was sinus drainage. yuck. you might want to talk to your doctor though just in case. Good luck I hope you get to feeling better soon.

my dad got that, then i had that... if its the same thing then it goes away after about a week or so./

oh man i had that 1 month ago and fever on top of it but you should buy a spray that you can buy on cvs or sumptin to make a a little better but it will go away on its own just dont eat anything that will make it worse like cookies or sumptin hard
