I have some Lorazepam (generic Ativan) that is supposed to have expired 7/10/07?

Question:
Is it still safe to use them? Will they be the same as new or weaker, stronger? Will they hurt me? Please only answer if you are a nurse, doctor or pharmacist.

Answers:
I am none of those things, but I am a medication expert, being on them for most of my life. AND Lorazepam included.
They put those dates on meds because after a certain period of time, they lose potency.
Being a couple of weeks past the date, is absolutely NOTHING to worry about. It will still work, the FDA just makes them put something on there.
I took some meds 6 months old, and they still worked just fine.
Look it up on the internet if you can!
The expiration date guarantees 100 % effectiveness til that date, after that, the product gradually loses its effectiveness;i.e.after 8/10/07, it's probably 80 % effective.
they are still ok, that is just kindda a warning, dont worry, they are ok to take, wanna spare a few? i might be able to get some sleep!lol.
