Foot pain any ideas what it could be?

yes I know exactly what this is..I had it! It is plantar faciitis...it is normally worse when you stop walking about and rest...it feels like someone has beaten you on the feet with a cricket bat and is so painful some days you can't put your weight down on them..right? Solution I found was to buy some heel and arch supports and use them in every pair of shoes I can!! Always have them in to rest your feet. Don't bother with the gel sort...invest in a good set from the chemist like scholl's. I use them all year 'round and can wash them in the sink to freshen them up from time to time!.
Strangely too I find that if I walk on my toes like I have invisible high heels on will help when I have to move around and have the awful pains in my feet! I found this out by attempting walk around and standing on some of my kids little toys...it felt like FIRE burning in my heels and make me jump in agony...the only thing I could do was to walk on my tippy toes to actually get around while in pain!
If you can get to the Dr..get something like Diclofenac which is an anti-inflamatory and will help more than any of the over the counter painkillers.
sounds like gout
Ask around for a decent podiatrist and make an appointment...they can work wonders.
Could be tendonitis. The dr will be able to tell you, keep taking anti inflammatories and perhaps put a cold pack on them and lay down with your ankles at hip level.
Possibly fallen arches (flat feet (-no offence)). This can be helped by raises in your shoes obtainable from most good chemists. If this is the problem, not wearing shoes will exacerbate rather than alleviate the problem. But I recommend seeing a good podiatrist.
could be water retention
Could be poor cirulation
I agree with "confuzzled" i also suffer from this and the pain is awful on standing up after a while or even sitting down after standing for ages. I have it really bad at the moment. I went to the docs just before christmas and she gave me steroid injections in the feet which eased it for a bit, they dont like to do it more than 8 times a year though apparently. I dont know about you but walking on my toes or limping for too long really huirts the backs of your legs and thighs? Sorbathane insoles help too but they are quite expensive (my stepson bought me a pair) and i move them between my shoes.
Good luck with it, i have every sympathy with you. Life is pretty miserable with sore feet.
